Your Opportunity

We have an opportunity for an Intermediate Transportation Technologist to join our Transportation team in Hamilton, London, or Waterloo. Our team provides consulting services for Class Environmental Assessment, Preliminary Design, and Detail Design projects for public sector clients, including the Ministry of Transportation Ontario and several Ontario Southwest municipalities.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a key member of the team, you will be involved in the planning and design of provincial highways, interchanges, and local municipal roads.

You will be responsible for assisting in the following areas:

  • Preparing engineering drawings and plans using industry standard drafting principles;

  • Documenting existing transportation conditions based on interpretation of survey plans and field reconnaissance;

  • Identifying existing transportation deficiencies based on current design standards;

  • Planning, preliminary design and detail design of transportation improvement projects; and

  • Preparing content for reports and proposals.


Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microstation, Civil 3D, and Excel spreadsheets and experience with InRoads or other relevant design software programs will be an asset.

  • Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the design team

  • Organized, self-motivated, with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work with and meet tight deadlines

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative work environment that supports cooperation and teamwork

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook

Education and Experience

Post-secondary diploma in Civil Engineering Technology. 5 to 10 years’ experience in structural or transportation engineering fields
