Are you looking for a new challenge where you can play a lead role on major engineering projects across the water and energy sectors?

Stantec are looking to recruit a Principal Civil Engineers to lead on the detailed design of tunnels, shafts and other underground and near surface structures across the water and energy sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your career within a forward-thinking consultancy, and to work on some of the largest, most iconic projects across both water and energy sectors.

You will work in our Major Projects team alongside water and energy sector discipline experts and pipeline, geotechnical and structural engineering specialists.

In this role you will be responsible for the detailed design of underground structures;working as part of multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery and outcomes for our clients. You will use your knowledge of ground engineering, structural engineering, and soil structure interaction to deliver across a wide range of major projects – including design & build (D&B)projects requiring industry-leading levels of collaboration.

You will play a fundamental role within projects to identify innovative and sustainable solutions. You will have access to Stantec’s world class expertise to help you provide cutting-edge delivery. As a senior member of the team you will also be involved in the development of more junior engineers – either as a line manager or acting as a mentor to project team members.

This role can be based from any of our Stantec offices, with hybrid working allowing for a mix of home- and in-office working.

About You

You will have extensive experience within ground engineering or structural engineering with soil structure interaction emphasis and have experience undertaking detailed design and construction oversight of significant underground structures.

You will be a Chartered Engineer with a relevant professional body, such as ICE or IStructE.

You will have experience of leading project teams, working collaboratively to help develop innovative solutions,and developing more junior engineers through line management or acting as a mentor.
