Stantec Design Lead (Water/Wastewater Engineering) in Warrington, United Kingdom

We are looking for talented Design Leads with a background in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering to join our team in Warrington. We’re looking for people who want to lead and develop project teams, work on exciting water projects, and make a big impact.

Our strategy within the Water division for 2023 and beyond is creating a number of new exciting opportunities in the business. We partner with the top water clients across the UK, work on some of the largest, most iconic water projects in the industry and we promise to design with community in mind by reducing environmental impacts and improving social impacts. We enable the delivery of sustainable development and infrastructure projects that adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change.

Our Design Leads work across the project lifecycle in asset planning / strategy, concept design, outline design and detailed design. We work in a variety of project areas within the water sector, including clean water treatment and networks, wastewater treatment, wastewater networks, flooding, and urban drainage. Our local design teams are involved in large partnership initiatives such as Hull and East Riding’sLiving with Water partnership and award-winning projects such as the Clifton Integrated Constructed Wetlandproject.

As a Project Technical / Design Lead, you will play a fundamental role within projects to identify innovative and sustainable solutions, work collaboratively with the client, plan technical delivery, and lead the multidisciplinary team throughout the project. You will work alongside the Project Manager to deliver best value and client service excellence. You will have access to Stantec’s world-class expertise to help you deliver leading edge design.  

As well as work on nearby projects in local communities to the North West, Stantec also offers the opportunity to work on projects across the UK and Ireland, and globally.

About Y ou

We are looking for someone who has a passion for solving engineering problems, the ability to lead and inspire and the confidence to drive through challenging solutions.

To be considered for this role, you will be a degree qualified (or equivalent) engineer and you will ideally be chartered, or a member of a relevant engineering institution e.g. ICE. Support can be given to achieve this if required.
