Your opportunity

Stantec’s Power team in Burnaby BC is currently offering an exciting opportunity for Intermediate Drafter / Civil Technician. As part of our positive and dynamic multi-discipline team environment, the successful candidate will be engaged in the drafting and documentation on a variety of energy distribution led civil projects throughout British Colombia. Based out of our Burnaby office, the candidate is responsible for the timely delivery of high-quality design drawings and provides our clients with superior services.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding and accurately translating engineering sketches and markups into properly documented drawings in applicable electronic and/or manual formats with high efficiency.

  • Ensuring drawings are produced with accuracy and in accordance with applicable drafting codes and standards.

  • Qualified candidate may be asked to perform design works in different disciplines under supervision of engineer.

  • Assisting the designers/engineers in preparation of final project document such as IFI, IFT, IFC and Record, etc.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proficient in 2D drafting in AutoCAD

  • Proficient in 3D modeling in Civil 3D

  • Proficient in creating plans, profile views and technical details for civil infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with BC Hydro drafting standards and practices is an asset.

  • Strong knowledge or direct experience of civil design is an asset.

  • Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to deal with multiple tasks and manage time appropriately.

  • Fluent in English with writing, oral and speaking.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools

Education and Experience

  • Diploma from a recognized technical institute or equivalent work experience.

  • 2-4 years of direct drafting/design experience in AutoCAD

  • 2-4 years of 3D modelling experience in Civil 3D

Salary Range(s):

  • Lower Mainland $54,400/ Other BC Areas $51,300 - Lower Mainland $76,100/ Other BC Areas $71,800 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
