Your Opportunity

An opportunity exists with Stantec for a Senior Structural Engineer. We are seeking a highly motivated person who will work closely with Stantec’s leadership focusing on the planning and design of bridges and ancillary structures in the development of transportation facilities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Serving as a QC manager on bridge projects and performing thorough QA/QC to deliver quality product in compliance with FDOT and other clients.

  • Monitoring the quality of design and technical services delivered by the technical team members assigned to projects and studies.

  • Performing as a senior technical advisor in the development of concepts, reports, studies, and design development.

  • Coordinating design development and/or provide technical direction to the scope of projects.

  • Providing senior-level technical expertise on bridge projects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of construction documents.

  • Leading and participating in client meetings, project pursuits and proposal preparation.


Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience with design of highway and rail bridge projects.

  • Significant experience with design of complex bridge projects and Alternative Delivery projects (i.e. design build)

  • Experience with Quality Control / Quality Assurance Program development and implementation.

  • Strong client interaction and relationship skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with strong presentation skills.

  • Possess a solid understanding of FDOT design and construction, with expertise in complex structures, bridge modification and rehabilitation of complex structure-types.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil/Structural Engineering, Masters preferred. Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida or ability to obtain in six months. Minimum of 25 years of experience.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; virtual; and may require some travel.
