About the role

We are currently seeking an ambitious and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our friendly and busy Sydney Electrical Team on a full-time basis. You will be a part of our multi-disciplinary team working across various building projects, including: health, commercial, retail, defence, data centre, industrial and educational buildings.

The successful candidate will have a good grounding in design and be looking to further develop their role and responsibilities. The successful applicant will manage components of work on large scale building services projects under the supervision of a Senior Engineers for support and guidance.

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Electrical design for a range of building projects, providing reports, studies, design calculations, drawings and specifications

  • LV power system modelling and light modelling using industry standard software such as PowerCAD, AGI/Dialux

  • Support senior engineers on a number of projects at different stages of completion

  • Be involved in planning and managing projects from initial concept and brief, through to installation and commissioning

  • Represent Stantec externally to Clients, playing an active role in managing these relationships and eventually generate repeat business

  • Independently work to project deadlines

  • Bring value to in-house design/project meetings

  • Contribute to our company culture

  • Adhere to Stantec professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures

To be successful for this role you'll need to:

  • Hold a bachelor of Electrical Engineering

  • Have experience working in a consulting environment within the Building services industry

  • Willingness to establish and maintain strong client relationships

  • Technical knowledge of LV power system modelling and light modelling using industry standard software such as PowerCAD, AGI/Dialux

  • Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines with well-developed organisational skills

  • Positive, can-do attitude, team player and strong work ethic
