Stantec Consultant - Water & Wastewater - Shanghai in Shanghai, China
Primary Purpose of Position:
To work with a team of Water, Energy and Chemicals experts providing Sustainable Supply Chain expertise to our multinational clients on various issues relating to Water and Wastewater, Energy, Chemicals, Soil and Groundwater, Environmental, Health and Safety, Social, and Supply Chain management. To learn from a capable team with good professional skills and to learn from internal training platform on skills needed for this job.
This role will report directly to a senior water consultant and will have the opportunity to support marketing, proposal and business development professionals. To be successful the incumbent must possess:
1.\tGood process and technical knowledge of water and wastewater
2.\tDesign experience in water and wastewater
3.\tSound understanding of wastewater reuse
4.\tPractical experience in assessments of a Facility’s water and wastewater infrastructure (preferred not mandatory)
5.\tAbility to function in small two-person teams onsite
6.\tExcellent communications skills with clients, stakeholders and team members
7.\tMust have a curiosity about the integrated impacts of Water, Wastewater, Chemicals and Energy on Sustainability
8.\tDemonstrated willingness to do both detailed engineering tasks as well client facing consulting
9.\tMust have excellent spoken and written skills in both English and Chinese
•\tUndertake regulatory review and updates related to Water and Wastewater in China
•\tCarrying out Characterization/Treatability Studies on wastewaters
•\tDevelop concept designs, feasibility and economic evaluations
•\tConsulting for Water Supply & Wastewater Treatment Plants, including
o\tProcess & Technology Selection
o\tDesign & Construction Management
o\tStart-up & Training/O&M Support
•\tUndertake facility assessments, including:
o\tWastewater Treatment and Reuse
o\tWater & Energy Conservation
o\tSampling and Analysis
•\tMaintain good relationship with Client representatives and Facility staff;
•\tAct as a Professional Consultant in Water and Wastewater consulting projects,
•\tThe supporting work includes, but is not limited to:
o\tAssist in developing proposals and coordinating input from other Stantec offices to ensure that they are submitted on a timely basis at a competitive price;
o\tAssist the Business Service leaders in identifying and developing market opportunities in China, primarily focusing on multinational companies in the middle portion of China.
o\tAssist project managers on successful project delivery and support on technical matters and client management, etc.
•\tComplete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.

•\tQualifications & Experience
o\tMinimum BA/BS degree, with understanding and/or educational background in environmental engineering/sciences;
o\tGood work attitude;
o\tKeen to continually learn;
o\tStrong team spirit;
o\tPassion on working in the Environmental Services industry;
o\tGood communication skills;
o\tAble to travel;
o\tFluent in English and Mandarin;
o\tOversea study/residential experience preferred;
o\tEnvironmental engineering/science academic background;
o\tWater and Wastewater consulting and designs with facility assessment experience preferred;
o\tHighly proficient in the use of MS Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook);
o\tAbility to work autonomously.
