Your Opportunity

We

are seeking a Project Controls Specialist/Document Control Specialist to work with our Power –

Transmission & Distribution Team. The Project Controls

Specialist is a key member of the Project Support Team responsible for

collaborating with Project Managers and project teams to provide support for

the successful execution of projects through conformance to Stantec’s

Frameworks, corporate policies, and client requirements and standards. The

Project Controls Specialist role is a dual support role encompassing both

project controls and documents responsibilities.

Your Key Responsibilities

Project Controls requires providing accurate commitment

and expenditure information, performance data, timely cost forecasts, and

forward-looking advice to Project Management to support achievement of budget

objectives. Project Controls can best achieve these objectives by:

  • Fullyunderstanding the scope of the project

  • Prepareproject set up forms, assist with Project Implementation Plans, RMSforms, initial resource planning, deliverables added to calendar

  • Activelyparticipating in development of project estimates, budgets and schedules

  • Workingclosely with the project team to maintain a current and accurateunderstanding of project status, issues and changes

  • Producingunderstandable, timely and useful reports

  • Keepingthe project team informed of barriers to maintaining the budget andschedule

  • Understandand optimize Project Controls processes and system(s)

  • Provideguidance to project management on matters relating to project controls.

  • Responsiblefor preparation, quality, accuracy and timeliness of project reports.

  • Prepareand establish baseline and controls budgets and schedule in conjunction withPM / Discipline Leads

  • TheProject Controls Specialist will review current financial information,estimates to complete, and schedule to assist with decisions andrecommendations

Document Controls Responsibilities

The responsibility of Document Controls is to provide

support for the successful execution of the project through conformance to

Stantec’s Frameworks, corporate policies, and client requirements and

standards. Document Controls can best

achieve these objectives by:

  • Fullyunderstanding the scope of the project

  • Implementdocument control processes and procedures established for project functionsincluding document tracking, deliverables scheduling and management, minutes,RFIs, submittals, change logs and other communication tools

  • Workingclosely with the project team to maintain a current and accurateunderstanding of project status, issues and changes

  • Understandand optimize Document Controls processes and system(s)

  • Providesupport to project management and team members to adhere to client standards,Stantec required procedures, and document management.

  • Supportingbusiness development functions: Proposals & our internal client trackingsystem

  • Responsiblefor preparation, quality, accuracy and timeliness of specification packages,reports, and other required documentation

  • Maintainrevision control

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience with MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access

  • Prior experience working in engineering or construction field required

  • Prior knowledge of documentation / revision control is required

  • Prior work in documentation control / project assistant role is a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments

  • Excellent written and verbal communications a must

Education and Experience

Minimum two-year business or related degree. Four-year business degree preferred.
