Your Opportunity

Stantec Consulting, Inc. has immediate openings for full time Structural CADD Technicians in our Fresno, Walnut Creek, Roseville, Los Angeles and Irvine California offices. Hybrid schedules available.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and edit design drawings and construction plans for transportation structures (bridges, culverts, foundations, walls, etc.) as required utilizing AutoCad or Microstation software packages. BIM experience a definite plus.

  • Preparing high quality transportation structural plans by utilizing engineering calculations, notes, sketches, etc. as prepared by engineers; using geometry and structural components for accurate descriptions of components and completed structures.

  • Providing clear and detailed plan preparation work, compliant with accepted design/drafting standards of the client including manuals, standard figures and plans, or other resources. Understands the terminology, technology, and other concepts related to structural engineering and construction practices. Applies this understanding to the process of structure layout, concrete reinforcing, and structural steel detailing.

  • Understands and implements site development (contours and survey).

  • Facilitating and ensuring the quality of the drawings and graphic work produced for the team.

  • Prepare and check quantity calculations from plans under Engineer’s supervision.

  • Perform shop drawing reviews under Engineer’s supervision.

  • Ensure that project needs are met in a timely and effective manner.

  • Works closely with project managers, project engineers, designers, and other CADD technicians.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and maintain project specific CAD standards.

  • Working knowledge of CAD software programs Autodesk and Bentley products including, but not limited to Autocad and Microstation. Experience with BIM software a definite plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and presentation. Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a “team player” approach to design and problem solving.

  • Ability to work within a team, sharing workloads to meet deadlines.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Education and Experience

  • Technical Degree, AS in Civil, Architectural or Mechanical Engineering Technology is preferred.

  • Experience can by substituted for portions of education.

  • 0 to 15 years experience in engineering drafting of structural components.

  • Hiring at All Levels from Entry to Team Captain

  • Willing to train the right candidates.

  • Familiar with Caltrans drawing standards a plus.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Salary Range(s):

  • SF Area $30.29/CA Other Areas $$26.44 PH - SF Area $42.40/CA Other Areas $$37.02 PH Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
