We want individuals to join our growing North American based team to support geospatial challenges across Stantec; apply your technical experience and use of geospatial solutions to a wide spectrum of projects. As such, we have an exciting and rewarding role to join our expanding team. We are looking to add a GIS Analyst within our Water Delivery discipline .
Your Opportunity
You will use geospatial technology to help our clients to meet the challenges faces within the Water industry. You will support the delivery of innovative geospatial solutions for both our internal business and our clients operating around water/wastewater, energy and resources, transportation, and environmental management.
Your Key Responsibilities
Uses geospatial data to complete tasks using knowledge of Geographical Information Systems
Proficient working knowledge of ESRI software products and tools
Understanding of cartographic design, GIS map creation, geodatabase design, and feature/attribute editing
Use geospatial technologies and analysis to creatively solve challenges for our clients
Create maps and exhibits; hardcopy and web applications (e.g., ArcGIS Online)
Ability to work in diverse work setting, within team environments, and independently as needed
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Significant knowledge of geospatial concepts and data processing techniques
Experience with ESRI software suite including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel for projects and assignments; typical duration a few days including occasional overnight stays.
Ability to working in a multi office team environment
Ability to work with a variety of people and professions with tact, courtesy, and professionalism
Ability to communicate clearly virtually and in person, to both internal and external clients
Ability to adapt to change in deadlines, project scope, and tasks
Willing to work non-traditional hours as needed
Maintain high regard for personal safety and safety of others
Preferred Capabilities
Knowledge of FEMA’s Risk MAP Program and flood risk product development
Experience with publishing data and configuring web apps on the ArcGIS Online platform.
Experience creating solutions using ArcGIS platform applications including Field Maps, Survey 123, Web AppBuilder, and Dashboard.
Understanding of Python routines using the ArcPy and ArcGIS API for Python libraries.
Experience with ETL (extract/transform/load) processes using Python, FME, ArcGIS API for Python, or other similar toolsets
Experience with GIS integration with other technologies
Understanding of record drawings and municipal utilities (sanitary, storm, water, electric, gas)
Knowledge of ESRI’s Utility Network a plus
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in GIS, Geography, or related field. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience.
Position is generally in an office setting; may experience occasional travel and field work; community outreach, data collection, client offices visits, work from other Stantec offices.
