Stantec Geophysical Specialist in Saint Laurent, Quebec
Our commitment to building sustainable communities is more important than ever and you will play a key role in our mission. Join our Geotechnical and Earth Sciences team as a Geophysical Specialist. In this varied position, you will implement several geophysical techniques, both in the acquisition of field data and in the analysis and presentation of results. Also, you would be involved in developing and growing this area of activity within Stantec, including active participation in resource training, evaluation & procurement of equipment and in the development of our practices.
Your responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, test and supervise geophysical data acquisition programs.
Identify the needs of the client and/or the project team and identify the most appropriate geophysical technique.
Conduct site planning (budget, schedule, equipment, resources, etc.).
Proceed to the acquisition and processing of data collected in the field.
Perform data quality control, interpret results and participate in the preparation of deliverables.
Train and supervise additional or complementary resources (technicians, junior engineers, geologists).
Your background:
Bachelor's degree in geological engineering, engineering physics, geology or other relevant discipline and master’s degree in geophysics (asset).
Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in the realization of geophysical mandates applied to engineering projects.
Knowledge of several geophysical methods: seismic refraction, MASW, DC electrical imaging, vibration monitoring and follow-up, borehole logging, downhole, georadar, seismic reflection (asset).
