Join a Top 10 global design firm in our Buildings practice that provides Architecture, Buildings Engineering, and Interior Design services with a long history and deep commitment to the health market. We are seeking an Architectural Project Manager to join our buildings practice.

As a contributor on our professional Buildings team, you will work independently to assist clients through the planning and creation of fiscally responsible, cutting-edge designs. Your experience ensures you are quite familiar with construction plans, specifications, estimates and building codes. You will be innovating and creating new prototypes designed with sustainable products with green architecture sensibility as your goals. You will lead the development of integrated design proposals, develop and manage integrated work plans, manage project financials, and coordinate with clients, while leading and mentoring others and collaborating with team members to contribute to the final deliverables as required under instruction from the Project Leader.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing complex tasks on small, medium to large size projects.

  • Plan, organize, and direct the work throughout the life of the project to successfully deliver the project to the client.

  • Keep the Principal in Charge informed of progress on project expectations, deadlines, and deliverables and understand the limits of the decision-making responsibilities of the role and respect the boundaries of the Principal in Charge’s responsibilities.

  • Lead the client and project team to assure the project design meets the client budget, schedule, program, and design intent.

  • Assist in the negotiation and development of project agreements.

  • Develop and manage project budget, schedule, and overall work plan to realize target financial performance.

  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers and motivate project teams.

  • Assure that Project Management Framework tasks are timely completed and properly documented for compliance.

  • Lead project coordination and owner/site meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor and sub-contractors.

  • Manage and track change orders, applications for payment by contractors and other contractual modifications impacting budget and schedule.

  • Work with Operations Manager in determining project staffing needs and recommending personnel.

  • Direct client invoicing and effectively manage collections.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Capable of simultaneously supporting one or more Principal’s in Charge on multiple projects.

  • Thorough understanding of accessibility codes, life-safety codes, building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards.

  • Take direction well, however, proactively takes appropriate action without requiring continued direction.

  • Effectively manage multiple deadlines and priorities.

  • Team player with the client, entire project team and contractor.

  • Effectively able to manage project team and align workloads to project delivery schedule and costs.

  • Effective negotiator and communicator.

  • Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Newforma; Prefer experience with Revit, SketchUp, and Bluebeam.

  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field

Licensed Architect, California preferred.

California Healthcare (HCAI) experience preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of experience

Experience with leading and implementation of Lean Tools preferred

LEED Green Associate or LEED AP a plus

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • CA Other Areas $80,900 - CA Other Areas $117,300 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
