Your Opportunity

Stantec’s Rochester Transportation group has an immediate need for a Civil Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in highway and urban street design. We are looking for a talented, team focused, and creative individual with a positive attitude and strong MicroStation and Inroads skills.

You will work on a variety of project types including complete streets, expressways, and trails throughout New York State and beyond. This is a hybrid position in our Rochester New York office. Our Rochester office is in the historic High Falls business district with easy access to the greater Rochester area.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Design complete streets, expressways, and multiuse facilities for pedestrians and bicyclists in accordance with AASHTO, NACTO, MUTCD, and NYSDOT specifications.

• Develop design plans and calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.

• Assist in preparing engineering reports and technical studies.

• Collaborate with team members, other disciplines and offices, and specialty subconsultants.

• Perform field investigations and construction phase services support.

• Interact with and present project designs to clients, agencies, and the public.

• Work alongside experienced practitioners to expand your knowledge.

• Provide guidance to influence and mentor team members.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Familiarity with AASHTO and NYSDOT design standards.

• Demonstrated proficiency with MicroStation, Inroads, OpenRoads,AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Programs such as Excel.

• Experience working with NYSDOT CAD Standards.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members.

• Strong oral and written communication skills in both office and virtual environments.

• Pro-active attitude, attention to detail, punctual, and organized.

• Excellent time-management skills.

• Enjoy challenges, problem-solving, and researching possible solutions.

Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering

• EIT required with NYS PE preferred

• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in complete street and highway design.

Position will primarily work in an office or virtual setting; may require some field work.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

• $84,900 - $123,100 Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in NYC/NY

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
