Your Opportunity

In this position as a Junior Land Development CAD Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on exciting land development projects for a range of public and private sector clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment and learn new skills.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Use Autodesk AutoCAD Civil3D and other tools to complete drafting of construction drawings, site plans, figures and other product deliverables.

  • Assist designer in the geometric design of roadways, utility networks, storm ponds and site grading.

  • Assist designer in the design of surface, sanitary, storm, water, and irrigation pipe networks.

  • Prepare plan/ profile drawings of roadways in AutoCAD.

  • Prepare drawings in Autoturn to simulate accurate turning movements.

  • Work in a collaborative team environment with project managers, engineers, designers, and construction staff.

  • Use knowledge of tools and drafting to complete assigned tasks including 2D and 3D model development, completing design changes redlining, plotting, and drafting using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil3D.

  • Prepare drawings, sketches and notes for projects, as well as redlines and plans for submittal.

  • Assist in resolution of technical issues on construction sites.

  • Perform quality control of construction drawings for peers & oneself.

  • Contribute to design and drafting continuous improvement ideas and solutions.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others on large complex projects.

  • Able to work within tight deadlines and be adaptable to changing priorities.

  • Eagerness to develop new skills.

  • Diligent on meeting commitments using a high level of detail.

  • Strong communication skills and willing to collaborate with multiple teams/ team members.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • Proficient in Bluebeam Revu or Adobe.

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D to prepare drawings and figures.

  • Working knowledge of codes and design requirements.

  • Graduate of Engineer Design and Drafting Diploma program, or equivalent.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Stantec is proud to offer a hybrid work environment and this position may allow for flexible remote working opportunities.
