Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking one or more creative and motivated professionals with project management experience to support our Multimodal Transportation Team in the Southeast region. Emphasis will be placed on individuals with direct experience in Transit Planning . The selected candidate(s) will (1) manage several multimodal transportation projects, (2) perform comprehensive planning, operations and potential design services for public transportation systems, (3) market clientele and build client relations, and (4) provide supervision and guidance to multimodal planning staff, assigning tasks, performing QC checks for accuracy and completeness, and maintaining project schedules. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, with a background in multimodal planning, transit service/operational/policy planning, or Complete Streets, with the ability to lead projects, manage within project scope and deliverables, provide compliant and technically sound strategies, manage, coach and mentor resources effectively, facilitate the stakeholder and engagement process, and effectively represent Stantec at client meetings and public events.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Working collaboratively with Multimodal Planning Group teammates

  • Lead the preparation of proposals and other transportation-related marketing efforts

  • Support the transit sector with marketing and business development, including identifying upcoming opportunities while leveraging client and partner firm relationships

  • Lead project management functions relating to project(s) reporting, analysis, interviews, and investigations to support the delivery of project(s) where required.

  • Collaborate with national team to develop personal expertise and industry knowledge specifically focusing on transit planning in additional to multi-modal planning services

  • Performs due diligence and research on projects as required to provide the background information to start a new project

  • Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiate appropriate corrective actions

  • Reviews own work for quality assurance (QA) and coordinates with others to ensure quality control (QC) for all final products

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong oral and written communication skills a must

  • Self-motivated and highly organized

  • Direct experience in transit planning (i.e., TDPs, BRT, short-range transit plans, CTSPs, FTA funding, transit policy, Mobility Hubs, microtransit, etc.)

  • Comprehensive approach to challenges and problem-solving

  • Experience managing multiple transportation projects, and maintaining an organized project file environment

  • Effective in building and maintaining client relationships

  • Strong research skills and open to feedback

  • Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation

  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite

  • Working knowledge and experience using ArcGIS software platforms is preferred, Adobe Creative Suite software such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator is also preferred

  • Adaptive to new software programs and web platforms (continual learner)

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Planning, Engineering, Environmental or related field. Prefer AICP, GISP, PTOE, or P.E. Certification. Minimum of 6 years of experience.

The ideal candidate is familiar with transit serving planning, include FTA funding and grant programs. Experience in transit planning to include, but not limited to Transit Development Plans, Short-Range Transit plans, transit facilities, intermodal facility planning, etc.

Some travel may be required, such as attending or facilitating public meetings, or project coordination meetings with agencies or clients. May occasionally visit study areas and be exposed to outside elements and inclement weather conditions.
