Your Opportunity

Stantec is currently accepting resumes for a Structural Project Engineer with 4 to 10 years of experience. As a Structural Project Engineer, you will need to have good written and oral communication skills as you will be collaborating with a variety of professionals.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Independently lead and manage small to medium sized projects from conceptual phase through construction administration.

  • Perform design and analysis of gravity and lateral systems for building structures; framing systems include structural steel, reinforced concrete, load bearing masonry, precast concrete and cold formed metal studs.

  • Provide direction and oversight to drafters and engineers in the production of construction documents.

  • Perform calculations to analyze and design main building components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by principal engineering staff.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Candidates must have strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Understanding of Revit, and the use of it as a drafting/design tool.

  • Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers and owners in developing design solutions and problem solving.

  • Perform field investigations and surveys of existing facilities; prepare reports of findings and recommendations.

  • Experience with RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, Staad, or other structural software is required.

  • Must have a good driving record and valid driver’s license.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) with an emphasis in structures with 4 to 10 years of relevant work experience.

  • Registered Professional Engineer in NC or able to earn a PE within a year of employment.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
