Your Opportunity
The Raleigh, NC office is looking for a Senior Transportation Engineer to join our Roadway Team. The Senior Transportation Engineer will focus on management of roadway design projects related to transportation infrastructure. You will join a full service Stantec delivery team that is successfully delivering quality plans for NCDOT, municipalities and developers. Stantec is looking for an experienced project manager with North Carolina roadway design experience to work alongside our other senior transportation engineers in a collaborative and professional environment to help grow and mentor our younger professionals and deliver projects with the high quality our clients have come to expect. The successful candidate will lead project teams in the development and delivery of designs for transportation projects of varying scope and complexity. This position also has potential for the leadership of the North Carolina Roadway Design Team, depending on the experience level of the candidate
Your Key Responsibilities
Establish and track project scopes, schedules, budgets.
Coordinate and track project status and action items, monitor project progress, and manage multiple projects.
Communicate risks to the delivery of projects with the project team and client as they are identified and work to mitigate the risks.
Train and/or lead junior staff in preparing plans, estimates, and other deliverables for transportation projects.
Review project designs and deliverables for conformity to documented commitments, standards, and for quality assurance.
Assist upper level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
Provide direction and coordinate staff necessary to complete assignments.
May assist with the preparation and/or review of proposals.
Follow all in-house procedures related to documentation of designs, process flow, filing, etc.
Actively participate in the marketing process by delivering quality work, providing excellent client service and assisting with project pursuits.
Other duties as assigned.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Proficiency with Bentley MicroStation/Geopak
Experience with MS Project and Bentley Open Roads Designer (ORD) a plus.
Ability to work in groups or alone. Flexibility.
Good communication skills, multi-tasking, attentiveness to detail.
Willingness to learn new skills and interface with multiple project managers.
Education and Experience
Completion of a four (4) year college level academic program in Civil Engineering with a Bachelor of Science degree is mandatory. 15 years of experience in transportation infrastructure projects is preferred. PE license in the state of North Carolina is required.
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
