Stantec Aviation Planner in Pune, India
Stantec Consulting Limited (Stantec) is seeking an Aviation Planner with the relevant experience and qualifications to join our Aviation Planning and Strategy team. We are seeking an individual who is dynamic and motivated; that has problem-solving and communication skills and a strong work ethic. The candidate should demonstrate their capability with various airport planning projects, a desire and interest in challenging assignments, and should have a keen interest airport development.
The selected individual will be supported by experienced aviation planners, land use planners, engineers, and support staff and will be responsible for contributing to the development of airport master plans, airside planning projects, landside and terminal planning projects, cargo planning and feasibility studies, and support for other team members in general planning tasks as assigned.
We are seeking an individual with experience or knowledge in all or most of the following areas:
airside and landside planning including assessments airport capacity analysis and facility program / regulatory requirements and evaluation studies;
airport master planning and related studies;
simulation modelling techniques;
heliport and general aviation airport planning projects, and
Canadian, US and International standards for both fixed wing and rotary aviation activities.
The primary responsibilities of this position would be to:
Perform airport benchmarking research and data gathering in support of airport planning studies;
Perform regulatory analysis utilizing ICAO, FAA and Transport Canada regulations and standards;
Develop technical analysis for airfield/airspace, terminal or ground transportation facilities including the utilization of simulation modelling;
Prepare development/concept plans for airfield, terminal or ground transportation facilities in AutoCAD; and
Prepare written briefs with drawing deliverables for airport planning studies.
College Diploma (Technical) or a University degree in a field that provides a strong foundation for aviation planning, such as Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Aviation Management or Operations;
Minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in airport planning;
Possesses a familiarity with the aviation industry, related regulations and standards;
Excellent analytical skills;
Ability to balance multiple concurrent projects and tasks;
Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communications skills;
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint); and
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with staff and client organizations.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge of best practices, methods, and principles utilized in strategic planning, infrastructure and facilities planning, and operational research for airports;
Experience using AutoCAD, Transoft AviPlan software;
Proficiency using Adobe Acrobat, and/or Bluebeam Revu;and
Knowledge of analytical techniques and related tools including spreadsheet, simulation modelling (CAST or other similar software), and spatial/graphical analysis applications.
