The role of this Civil EIT is to work as a team member on municipal infrastructure and site servicing / development projects under the mentoring and guidance of a senior engineer. In your capacity as Civil EIT, you will interface directly with clients and stakeholders to effectively manage project deliverables, with a focus on quality and team collaboration. Our Civil North Team leads and works with multidisciplinary teams and projects across British Columbia’s Central and Northern Region, supporting several interconnected sectors, including municipal infrastructure (roads, highways, bridges, water / sewer), architecture, buildings, structural, mining, and environmental teams. A broad range of civil engineering experience across these sectors is advantageous.

You will perform a variety of tasks which may include design and design management, business planning, project management, client account management, resource planning, proposal writing, and quality management.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Use knowledge of relevant civil engineering design for roadways, drainage, grading, water and sewer, and site development projects.

  • Assist the team in preparing reports, conduct basic calculations, and perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

  • Conduct field work to obtain pictures, measurements, or relevant site information as directed by a senior engineer.

  • Assist with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions.

  • Perform basic calculations to analyze and design civil system components using various software.

  • Assist in basic interpretation and verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.

  • Prepare drawings with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Support construction inspection reviews on various civil projects.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Basic - intermediate understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Basic - intermediate understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and other similar material.

  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.

  • Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team.

  • Focused on safety and comfortable working in office, field, and construction settings.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited post-secondary institution (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering.

  • Past Co-op/Internship/Employment will be considered.

  • 1-3 years of experience is preferred.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • BC Other Areas $59,200 - BC Other Areas $82,900 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
