Your Opportunity

The role of a Structural EIT is to work as a team member on small and large projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. The Structural EIT will work under close supervision of a Senior Engineer to assist on plans and designs of structural engineering projects such as bridges and other transportation structures.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Use knowledge of general concepts of structural engineering elements through investigation and analysis, to support engineering projects such as airports, bridges and tunnels, as well as construction, remodeling, renovation, and maintenance of buildings.

  • Perform basic calculations to analyze and design structural system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.

  • Assist team in preparing structural designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports, and gather information to support design decisions.

  • Assist in basic interpretation and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.

  • Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer.

  • Assist the team in providing support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications.

  • Perform field work related to construction related activities as required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification

  • Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of design

  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite

  • Basic understanding of Microstation and any other relevant design software

  • Knowledge of calculations performed by software

  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting, engage in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicate concepts and ideas to others

  • Ability to create and interpret sketches, drawings, and various structures

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering. Master's degree preferred.

  • With 0-2 years of related work experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
