Your Opportunity

Our practice is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience designing HVAC systems and with experience commissioning HVAC systems. We are looking for someone with strong technical and engineering design skills to work as a team member on multidiscipline projects for a wide range of building types including, educational, commercial, governmental, and industrial facilities. Candidates must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills and must be a strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment to be successful in this role.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Complete building mechanical system designs including calculations, equipment selection and sizing, control strategies, ductwork, and piping system design, etc.

  • Development of construction bid documents including drawings and technical specifications.

  • Participation in the construction administration process including resolving coordination issues that occur during construction, perform site visits, review shop drawings, and develop final punch lists.

  • Coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines.

  • Perform field investigations of existing conditions of facilities.

  • Provide direction to junior members of the project team.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Required Computer Skills: Revit (Revit experience is a must), HVAC load calculation software (Carrier HAP, IES), Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Working knowledge of building and energy codes.

  • Candidate must have experience working on multiple projects at one time and must be able to demonstrate efficient and effective use of budgeted hours.

  • Position requires local travel, occasional domestic travel, and visits to client/construction sites.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering or mechanical engineering is required.

Minimum of seven years of commercial HVAC systems design experience is required.

PE is preferred, if candidate does not possess a PE, candidate must be on a path to licensure.

Sustainability experience is preferred.

LEED AP, LEED AP BD C, or equivalent credential preferred.

Commissioning experience is preferred.

CxA, CCP, or equivalent credential is preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers. Some travel may be required to meet with clients or reviewing agencies. May occasionally visit construction sites and/or be exposed to outside elements and inclement weather conditions.
