About the role

Our transport planning and advisory team partners with its clients to provide traffic and transport solutions for the community. We are currently seeking a Senior Traffic/ Transport Engineer to join our Transport Planning and Advisory team based in Perth. This role is responsible for the planning and design of transport projects that focus on transportation systems and movement networks such as our local streets, urban development, major roads, road safety and all the modes of transport that may operate within.

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Provide technical assessment and advice on transport engineering, car parking, transport design, road safety, traffic management, active and public transport disciplines.

  • Contribute to the development of engineering systems, through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.

  • Prepare engineering and planning documents by developing traffic models, transport assessments, reports, plans and schedules.

  • Review of engineering assessments, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.

  • Involved in the permit process, which may require meetings with clients, contractors, reviewing agency personnel and governing entities.

  • Prepare engineering feasibility studies by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data.

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with an emphasis in Civil Engineering or a Transport

  • 5 - 10 years’ experience working within a traffic engineering capacity and familiarity with appropriate software such as SIDRA.

  • Solid understanding of transport plans, transport design, transport assessments, transport modelling and planning for cities/regions/corridors.

  • Experience of working in a consulting environment or for local/ state government in a similar role.

  • A good working knowledge of best practice standards, guidelines, current trends and legislation in order to deliver innovative and practical traffic and transport solutions.
