About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Designer to join the Stantec team. Working out of our Perth CBD office, you will form an integral part of the Electrical Design Team within our Energy & Resources division.

As a Senior Electrical Designer , your focus on client service and strong communication skills enables seamless collaboration across the various disciplines to successfully deliver projects. Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Engage in design development using sketches, electronic models, and diagrams.

  • Prepare and revise documentation during submittal reviews and in response to information requests.

  • Create technical drawings from scratch to support engineering projects.

  • Focus on electrical systems and instrumentation design.

  • Assist senior project engineers in conceptual, preliminary, and final designs.

  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure design compatibility.

  • Attend project coordination meetings with internal and external team members.

  • Recognize technical problems and initiate appropriate corrective actions.

  • Mentor and train junior resources.

  • Perform varied design tasks on assigned projects.

You will play a key role in project execution, from inception to completion, using CAD software to create schematics and layouts. This position requires a strong understanding of design principles and the ability to work autonomously.

Qualifications

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Tertiary / Vocation education in Electrical Design;

  • Suitably qualified by industry experience

  • Bentley MicroStation experience required;

  • E3D and Navisworks Simulator experience is desirable;

  • Previous experience in a similar role highly desirable;

  • Mining Industry design experience;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

  • Strong leadership skills;

  • Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines;

  • Positive, can-do attitude; and

  • Attention to detail.
