Description

We are seeking to appoint a Principal Civil Engineer - Team Leader Buildings for our Perth office. You will join existing experienced team of engineers and designers who are passionate about making a difference to the local area and being part of the exciting growth of this region. Some of the key aspects of the role are:

  • To lead the team in achieving the outcomes and objectives identified in the Civil Buildings business strategy.

  • To lead the overall performance of the team in terms of people, technical leadership, business development, project and operational management.

  • To promote cooperation and cross-selling across all APAC business units through the general sharing of information, support, resourcing for projects in the interests of the overall good of the company.

The Role

  • Oversee all people management activity in their team; manage the people to deliver against agreed goals, strategies and KPIs.

  • Oversee implementation of company systems and policies that ensure standards for all work are maintained for technical performance and avoidance of professional liability

  • Work with Project Managers and Project Directors to balance project outputs with budget constraints to avoid project overruns (time, or cost).

  • Work with Project Managers and Project Directors to implement project improvement plans when needed.

  • Work with PMs/ PDs to ensure adequate project/ proposal resourcing

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering

  • Demonstrated experience within a civil infrastructure environment

  • Demonstrated experience and relationships within stakeholders

  • Strong client relationship and business development skills

  • Excellent technical report writing skills

  • Outstanding communication skills to liaise with the team, senior management and external partners to produce commercial, client focused outcomes
