Our Physical Security consulting and engineering team works with customers to imagine, design, build and commission projects to secure their assets. We are active in the defense, security, Federal, Provincial, Municipal and industrial sectors.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DAILY TASKS:

  • Participate in project planning;

  • Survey existing security measures and installations;

  • Participate in the design and development of systems for access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, protective measures against attacks; vehicle ramming, ballistics, by deflagration (bomb blast), chemical, biological or nuclear agents and others;

  • Follow-up on technical documents;

  • Participate in site meetings with contractors;

  • Find solutions to site problems;

  • Issue change notices to contractors;

  • Estimate costs of additional work;

  • Record changes to plans and specifications;

  • Identify non-conformities and produce deficiency lists;

  • Inspect and test various security systems;

  • Make recommendations to the project manager regarding acceptance of work;

  • Verify and approve completion documents;

  • Provide technical support to colleagues and customers;

  • work closely with other disciplines;

  • Design report production (Security Design Briefs, Threat and Risk Assessment, Security Assessments, Detailed Specifications and drawings);

  • Assist in proposal writing and project cost estimating;

  • Assist the project manager with customer in the bidding process, analyze bids received and provide applicable recommendations;

  • Establish and maintain contact with internal and external customers to request or provide project-related technical information;

  • Assist and Participate in internal and external project meetings to provide expertise related to the physical security discipline;

  • Assist the monitoring team during the construction period.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • College Diploma or a Bachelor's degree;

  • Experience in the field of physical security (asset);

  • Certification from a recognize Physical Security Organization (asset)

  • Member of a recognize Physical Security Organization (asset)

  • Knowledge of Physical Security Principals (CPTED, TRA’s, Zoning, etc.);

  • Experience in managing projects, proposal writing, reporting to Management;

  • Experience in working with Architectural, Construction plans/ drawings;

  • Fluency in spoken and written English (essential) - Bilingual (French) is an asset;

  • Ability to perform site inspection;

  • Experience in participating in project coordination;

  • Experience in assessing issues, problems and requests, asking the right questions to clarify needs and in making recommendations, and in communicating ideas requirements and expectations clearly.

  • Experience in delivering high-quality services in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines;

  • Experience in providing guidance and direction to management, senior management, project teams, and working groups.

  • Experience working with one or more of the following applications, or others: Publisher, Adobe, Word, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.

  • Must be able to obtain a “Secret” Canadian government security clearance;

  • Must have a driver's license and access to a car;

  • Possibility of nationwide and international projects, so available and willing to travel.
