Your Opportunity

The Protection and Control (P&C) Specialist 1 will work under the supervision of a senior engineer or the P&C-Team Lead. As a P&C Specialist 1 you will be a primary contributor on small to large substation designs for key utility/industrial clients. This role will function in a junior engineer capacity performing routine aspects of engineering assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles. The P&C Specialist 1 will also support site visits, project administration, document control, and client outreach. This position can sit in either our Lake Mary, FL or Wyomissing, PA offices.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior staff in producing control building layouts, P&C one-line diagram, three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, control panel layout and wiring diagram, station service AC/DC distribution diagram, bill of material, cable schedule, etc.

  • Perform basic engineering calculations such as alternating current, direct current, equipment sizing, voltage drop, CT saturation, etc.

  • Work closely with other disciplines to produce construction and review packages.

  • Support facilitation of document control/administrative procedures required on projects.

  • Participate In site visits to capture all technical data needed for successful project execution.

  • Develop familiarity with department design guides, client standards and applicable engineering codes.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • A good understanding of power systems/electrical concepts.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and develop strong relationships.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work closely with Senior Engineer/Leads to meet project budget, schedule, and quality requirements on deliverables.

  • Proficient with MS Office tools; familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university is required.

  • EIT license preferred.

  • 0-2 years of power delivery experience preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
