The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our team based in Newcastle.

Our award-winning team works across multiple sectors from Waste, Plastic Recycling, Waterpower and Dams, Transmission and Distribution and Minerals and Resources.

To give you an idea of what you could be working on, check out our recent high-profile projects including Dunbar ERF, and Coire GlasPumped Hydro for SSE.

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be involved with producing drawings and design calculations from Front End Engineering Design (FEED) to detailed design. You'll also be involved with using mapping software such as Arc GIS, technical report writing and site survey specifications and ground investigations.

About you:

As an individual, you’ll have a keen interest in the energy sector and climate change as well as:

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

• A likeminded engineer with a love of challenging conventional thinking

• Valid UK driver’s license

• A problem solver and ready to deliver an important role in the UK energy transition

• Eligible to live and work in the UK at the time you start employment.

Desired but not essential:

• A MSc in Civil Engineering or related subject

• Previous experience via a summer placement or internship.

Land Aid

Stantec has partnered with property sector charity LandAid as one of its corporate partners to join its mission to end youth homelessness.

In 2019/20, an estimated 120,000 young people asked for help from their local council because they were homeless or at risk of homelessness.

It’s a problem that LandAid are here to help tackle.

As the Property Industry Charity, LandAid unite over 200 organisations from across the sector, working together to bring an end to youth homelessness.

As a Charitable Trust, they distribute funding to frontline charities supporting the young and homeless – and primarily fund capital projects, such as renovating homes and building bedspaces.

We have seen the incredible impact that can happen when the industry unites and so Stantec are proud to be working alongside LandAid this year.
