Your Opportunity
Stantec is looking for a Junior Transportation Analyst with 0-2 years of transportation engineering or planning experience to join our multidisciplinary team based in the New York City office. We believe training, collaboration, and connections are strengthened by working alongside team members. As such, this is a hybrid position with at least three days/week in the office anticipated.
Your Key Responsibilities
Performing transportation planning studies, traffic impact studies, traffic operations analysis, speed studies, toll road feasibility studies, and traffic signal timing analysis.
Executing travel demand models, including model preparation and analysis of results.
Conduct microsimulation modeling, mesoscopic modeling, dynamic traffic assignments.
Assisting with traffic data collection and data analysis.
Writing draft technical memoranda and reports.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Knowledge of travel demand modeling concepts and typical application procedures.
Experience with transportation softwares such as VISSIM, Cube, TransCAD, VISUM, HCS, Synchro, or Legion is a plus
Experience with large databases, dashboard development, and related softwares (Power BI, Tableau)
Experience with computer programming (such as C and Python)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to work on multiple assignments concurrently.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience with GIS software is a plus.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, City and Regional Planning, Operations Research, or related discipline
A masters' degree is a plus
1-2 years work experience in transportation engineering or planning is a plus

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):
Salary Range(s):
- $79,800 - $111,600 Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in NYC/NY
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
