Stantec Project Director - Energy in Nationwide, United Kingdom

The transmission and distribution sector is rapidly transforming against a backdrop of growing demand, regulatory changes, ambitious carbon reduction targets and new innovations in technology.

Due to our success and growth of our Energy Team, we are looking to appoint a Project Director to undertake a key leadership role within our Transmission & Distribution team. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a wide variety of projects, across various technical disciplines with clients across country.

Operating both strategically and tactically you will focus on the management and delivery of Energy projects on behalf of Stantec and our clients. You will develop a clear understanding of the broader context of our client organisations, the various changes being undertaken beyond the project and align the project approach, impact and timing with a focus on outcome driven decision making.

You will provide leadership, direction, guidance, constructive challenge and coaching to Project Managers and the broader project team in relation to project approach, activities, risks, issues and general management, whilst fostering an environment where team members can develop.

You will be joining a growing and collaborative team, working in partnership with a variety of clients to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to industry-wide efficiency and environmental challenges. We have ambitious growth plans and as a result there are lots of great development opportunities within our teams. This is an opportunity to play an important part in the U.K. energy transition.

This role can be based from any of our Stantec UK offices, with hybrid working allowing for a mix of home- and in-office working.

About You

You are a seasoned project leader with a proven track record in delivering major infrastructure projects. You hold qualifications in engineering or project management with a deep understanding of large and complex construction issues.

You will have experience in the Energy Sector, ideally within the field of Transmission & Distribution, working with clients such as National Grid.

You possess strong leadership abilities, with the ability to inspire others to perform at their highest level. You are passionate about promoting and advocating project management best practice, with a track record of developing innovative new services and driving efficient methods. Finally, you possess strong commercial acumen in ensuring short and long term financial performance objectives are achieved.
