Your Opportunity

Stantec is looking for a highly motivated Senior Project Manager with municipal water / wastewater treatment experience. The successful candidate will use his/her technical and project management capabilities to manage and supervise engineers and technical staff to ensure that the projects' needs are met in a timely and effective manner. Additionally, you'll have client facing responsibilities working closely and meeting regularly with municipal officials, public, and contractors to review project needs and coordinate field conditions.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage design professionals and technicians

  • Management of projects of varying complexity within multidisciplinary teams Mentor and supervise staff and develop high-performing project teams

  • Assist with business development pursuits including proposal preparation and participation in interviews

  • Interact with clients and management regarding status of project scope, schedule, and budget

  • Apply and share experience/knowledge of design expertise

  • Research and understand issues related to regulatory and other drivers that impact individual projects

  • Ensure that projects' needs are met in a timely and effective manner

  • Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors

  • Lead client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating

  • Develop and manage the project scope, budget, staffing and schedule

  • Client communication, development and management

  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience managing municipal projects and technical staff

  • Candidate must have technical writing abilities and ability to manage others

  • Strong people skills are needed

  • Experience working on engineering, planning, design and/or construction projects

Education and Experience

  • 10 years of experience in Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Typical office environment working with computers at a desk for long periods. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
