Your Opportunity

Stantec is searching for a Client Technology Services Principal to lead our growing Western US business. This position requires the candidate to have the ability to develop new business, lead a team of technologists and creatively leverage new information technologies to successfully implement solutions for our clients. The candidate will have the opportunity to lead the development of engineering technology solutions and is responsible for communicating that vision to the team. The candidate will work with engineering and development teams to ensure that business, quality and functional goals are met with each project engagement. The Principal is the key decision maker on staff, priorities and client pursuits to continue growth and ensure profitability of the CTS team in the Western States.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Act as an ambassador for CTS internally and externally, and as the primary technical contact for queries related to engineering technology solutions

  • Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of work for the Western States and the CTS team globally.

  • Leverage new technologies to create innovative solutions to engineering related projects and tasks.

  • Inspire and motivate the development teams to deliver innovative and exciting solutions with an appropriate sense of urgency.

  • Lead the development & implementation process using Stantec Development Operations (SDO) project methodology.

  • Coordinate with development team members using fit for purpose project processes (Agile/Waterfall/Other)

  • Collaborate with product architect and product marketing teams to develop business requirements and user stories for the development teams to implement.

  • Work with project managers and technical leads to determine scope and priorities for product development cycles.

  • Work with development teams to ensure that they understand the vision for the product and are designing great features for our partners.

  • Develop appropriately detailed specifications for product features so that they are clearly understood by the development teams.

  • Work with key stakeholders across the company to promote successful product releases.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Role Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience leading Engineering Technology staff and projects

  • 15 years of experience delivering engineering related application & database projects

  • Strong understanding of coding structures, database principals & development methodologies

  • Depth of knowledge of a wide range of engineering disciplines (Water, Transportation, Geotechnical, Environmental, Civil, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification/PM Training

  • Experience implementing & configuring engineering tools such as Autodesk, Bentley, Hexagon & ESRI
