Your Opportunity

Join Stantec as a Hydrogeologist where you would be involved in a variety of projects related to hydrogeologic assessments and groundwater supply development while ensuring that projects meet and exceed our client’s expectations.

Reporting to the Business Center Operations Leader (BCOL) or a Team Leader for Site Investigation and Remediation, this opportunity is for you if you want to grow your career, get out of your comfort zone, and want to enhance your technical, project management and customer service skills.

The position is based at our office in Saint-Laurent (Qc), and we will consider other work locations in Quebec.

Your key responsibilities

  • Organize field investigations in support of hydrogeology studies including drilling, well construction, and testing oversight; groundwater and surface water sampling; water level monitoring; hydraulic conductivity testing; and infiltration testing.

  • Design and construction of groundwater monitoring wells and groundwater supply wells.

  • Develop conceptual site hydrogeologic models.

  • Analyze and interpret data including pumping test results, aquifer response, surface water and groundwater interaction.

  • Prepare technical reports documenting field investigations, analytical results, and interpretation.

  • Assist project managers with developing project budgets, determining project scope, and establishing project schedules.

Qualifications

Your background

  • A bachelors in Geoscience or Engineering program with an emphasis on hydrogeology.

  • A minimum of 5 years of hydrogeological experience.

  • Professional registration in Quebec (P.Geo. or P.Eng.) or ability to work towards registration.

  • Fluent French (spoken and written).

  • Knowledge of English is required to facilitate collaboration with our internal teams outside Quebec or with our clients.

  • Valid driver's license.

Your keys to success

  • A masters in geoscience or related field.

  • Good analytical, synthesis and writing skills.

  • Willingness to adhere to Stantec’s safe work practices and to client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.

  • Experience in consulting services or a deep understanding of this field in a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Experience in planning and executing projects under limited supervision.

  • Flexibility and strong adaptability (occasional travel throughout Quebec or Canada).
