Stantec is seeking motivated individuals to manage projects in our successful Water business in Minnesota and our North Central region. The selected individuals will lead the planning, design, and construction of mid to large-scale wastewater conveyance and lift station projects. The projects will be in various phases from planning and data gathering through design, construction, and startup.

Your Key Responsibilities

The candidate will lead and support engineering projects for sanitary sewer collection systems, lift stations, and forcemains. This includes work related to sanitary sewer flow monitoring projects completed for the purpose of inflow and infiltration studies and hydraulic modeling. The role includes both project management and engineering design responsibilities.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Leading teams to deliver successful projects for our clients in the Water business. You will engage internally throughout the organization with staff at all levels, and externally with clients, members of business and professional organizations, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, and other firms.

• Developing and managing the approved scope, budget, invoicing, and schedule on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Establishing project objectives, procedures and performance standards, and leading multi-disciplinary teams on proposals, planning studies, feasibility through final designs, and construction services.

• Identifying appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives as well as managing contract terms, tracking and managing costs and schedule, and implementing measures necessary to stay on schedule and within budget.

• Actively support proposal pricing strategies, cost proposal preparation, contract legal and risk reviews, and related marketing efforts needed to develop winning proposals.

• Embracing Stantec’s internal policies and practices, including risk management, project management, and quality management.

• Maintaining and enhancing our relationship with clients, approval agencies and industry professionals by providing exceptional service.

• Providing mentoring and training for future leaders to support their career growth, including supervising junior staff.

• Promoting collaboration and teamwork across engineering disciplines, business lines and geographies.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Proven project management and technical skills applicable to wastewater conveyance projects.

• Experience with field work, inspections, and construction related to wastewater conveyance infrastructure.

• Experienced in organizing, planning, and executing mid to large projects from pursuit through closeout, involving internal personnel, subconsultants, and vendors.

• Ability to make sound defensible business decisions, and identify, assess, evaluate, and solve complex problems.

• Experience with a wide variety of process system designs.

• Demonstrate ability to communicate technical information internally and externally in clear, concise manner.

• Excellent client relationship and strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience in team building, leading and collaboration.

Education and Experience

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or construction management related technical discipline.

• Minimum 12 years’ relevant professional experience, with at least 5 years of experience managing and/or coordinating projects.

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required, or ability to obtain PE license within 6 months. Previous certification in first aid/CPR, traffic control and confined space entry is desired but not required.
