Your Opportunity

The Miami, FL Workplace studio of Stantec Architecture (Arch Street location), is seeking a senior-level Project Manager to work with local and regional leadership to design great projects, grow the practice, and have a positive and profound impact on the communities we serve.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse mix of project types including commercial interiors, workplace, hospitality, specialty architectural, adaptive reuse and mixed-use. Project sizes range from 5,000SF to 500,000SF with construction values ranging from $100,000 to $50 million.

Assignments will range from concurrent responsibility for multiple small- to mid-size projects of varying complexity, to several projects of larger scope and importance.

Your Key Responsibilities

A Project Manager at Stantec is a professional chiefly responsible for design excellence, technical quality, and project delivery and execution. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate mastery of these compulsories while at the same time having a passion for the following: mentoring the next generation of architects and designers, leveraging design to enhance teaching and learning, instilling a sustainable mindset, and growing business through presentations, interviews, and cultivation of client relationships.

Project Managers at Stantec are responsible for:

  • Management of key client accounts with multiple tasks performed simultaneously.

  • Managing complex tasks on multiple, large scope, highly complex projects.

  • Managing inter-disciplinary teams including designers, architects, engineers, and other building related professionals.

  • Effectively participates and helps to win work in interviews for potential projects.

  • Plans, organizes, and directs the work throughout the life of the project to successfully deliver the project to the client.

  • Leads the client and project team to assure that the project design meets the client budget, schedule, program, and design intent.

  • Develops and manages project budget, schedule, and overall work plan to realize target financial performance.

  • Mentors and motivates project team members.

  • Assures that Project Management Framework tasks are timely completed and properly documented.

  • Leads project coordination and owner/site meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor and sub-contractors.

  • Manages and tracks change orders, applications for payment by contractors and other contractual modifications impacting budget and schedule.

  • Works with Studio leadership in determining project staffing needs and recommending personnel.

  • Directs client invoicing and supports collections.


Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Able to run day-to-day project activities/tasks/meetings, manage project production team, and serve as main client POC.

  • Client facing and professional.

  • Must be local and able to attend regular on-site client meetings.

  • Strong experience managing internal design teams and technical coordination of external team consultants (engineers, specialty vendors, etc.) on projects from conception to completion.

  • Understanding of accessibility codes, life-safety codes, building construction systems, materials, and industry associated standards.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Proactively takes appropriate action without requiring continued direction or guidance.

  • Able to effectively manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.

Education and Experience

  • Professional degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Construction Management from an accredited program.

  • Minimum of 7 years of project management or related experience.

  • Architectural licensure, NCIDQ accreditation, or PMP certification preferred.

  • Experience with commercial interiors and/or workplace strongly preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
