Your Opportunity

The Office 365 Administrator will be responsible for managing and supporting Stantec’s Office 365 environment. This includes ensuring system availability, security, and efficiency, as well as providing IT and end-user support and training.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Stantec’s Office 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Teams.

  • Monitor and manage health services, mail flow, and connectivity in the Office 365 environment.

  • Manage user accounts and licenses, including adds, changes, and deletions.

  • Ensure the security of Office 365 systems by implementing appropriate policies and governance.

  • Collaborate with IT security to monitor and respond to incidents and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

  • Provide IT support and training to ensure effective use of Office 365 services.

  • Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and service records.

  • Coordinate with vendors and external support as needed.

  • Stay current with Microsoft 365 updates and changes, and communicate potential impacts to IT and the business.

  • work independently, remotely or in the office.

  • Standard business hours with the possibility of on-call availability for urgent issues.

  • Coordinate activities and tasks for team members. Potential for additional supervisory responsibilities down the road.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proven experience as an Office 365 Administrator or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 products and services.

  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.

  • Understanding of mail transport protocols, mail routing, and mail security technologies.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

  • Strong communication and training skills.

Technical Expertise

  • Proficiency in managing Office 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Teams.

  • PowerShell Scripting: Ability to automate tasks and configure Office 365 services using PowerShell.

  • Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills to quickly resolve issues that arise within the Office 365 environment.

  • Security Management: Knowledge of security protocols, compliance policies, and data protection strategies to safeguard the organization's data.

  • User Support and Training: Skills to assist and educate users on making the most of Office 365 applications.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and end-users.

  • Analytical Skills: Competence in analyzing system performance and making recommendations for improvements.

  • Adaptability: Staying current with the latest updates and changes in Microsoft 365 and adapting to new technologies.

  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals) are a plus.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years related experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Must be a US citizen.
