About the role

We are seeking a Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Melbourne based team on a full-time basis. You will be a part of our multi-disciplinary team working across various data center projects with a focus on mission critical facilities.

The role will enable the successful candidate to develop in a professional and personal sense and to forge a challenging and rewarding in career path in a successful consultancy.

Opportunity to work with leading national and international hyperscale cloud providers

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Responsible for planning and managing projects from initial master planning, concept and brief, through to installation and commissioning.

  • Demonstrate a high degree of technical knowledge, providing oversight and supervision to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Provide technical competence in the planning and design of complex Data Centre projects.

  • Electrical design for a range of building projects, providing reports, studies, design calculations, drawings and specifications

  • HV and LV power system modelling using industry standard software such as ETAP and PowerCAD

  • Represent Stantec externally to Clients, playing a senior and active role in managing these relationships.

  • Prepare and present presentations to external clients

  • Keep up to date with deliverables and meet project timeframes

  • Provide input throughout the Construction phase by attending meetings and conducting site inspections.

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Extensive experience working within a design consultancy environment

  • Ideally have experience in designing Electrical Engineering services for mission critical facilities

  • Extensive understanding of Uptime Institute and TIA 942-B standards

  • Electrical Engineering Degree

  • Ability to work on several projects at different stages of completion

  • Have experience planning and managing successful projects

  • Strong Technical knowledge of LV power system modelling using industry standard software such as PowerCAD,

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Positive, can-do attitude

  • Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines

  • Ideally have experience in commissioning mission critical electrical system
