Your Opportunity

An opportunity exists for a motivated Fluvial Geomorphologist / Water Resources Engineer to join a large water resources group extending across several offices with a diverse water resources workload.

This position would include the opportunity to provide business development, manage water resources projects and water quantity and quality components of larger projects and will involve working with other experts in the fields of water, mining, environmental management, transportation, infrastructure and other disciplines on a variety of complex projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise to internal and external clients to resolve complex problems and issues

  • Manage projects, mentor and guide water resources staff in a dynamic team setting

  • Manage project budgets and schedules

  • Contribute to business development and prepare project proposals

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Ability to build hydrological models (HEC-HMS, VO5, PC-SWMM) and hydraulic models (HEC-RAS, Flowmaster, etc)

  • Comprehensive understanding, knowledge and experience working with natural channel design principles

  • Water quality experience is a bonus as well as working knowledge of water quality models

  • Demonstrated ability to carry field data collection through to channel restoration design.

  • Ability to complete watercourse/body design in CAD with preference for design familiarity in a Civil3D environment.

  • Strong work ethic

  • Strong technical writing skills

  • Superior oral communications skills

  • Ability to think critically and work independently in a team environment

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Province of Ontario. A Master’s or Ph.D. in engineering or relevant science is an asset

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) in Ontario preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
