Stantec Environmental Planner/Senior Environmental Planner in London, United Kingdom

Our growing Environmental Planning team has an exciting opportunity for a talented Environmental Planner/Senior to join them as part of the team’s ongoing growth strategy. We have a growing pipeline of complex projects in both the Town and Country Planning regime and also the Infrastructure sector (consisting of primarily DCO projects in the energy, water and transportation sectors, which will be critical for the UK to meet its Net Zero targets and boost the economy). This role offers the opportunity to work on projects spanning one or both regimes depending on your skillset and aspirations.

We can therefore offer you an exciting opportunity, with lots of variety and a great opportunity to raise your own profile and that of the team. We have some flexibility on office locations but ideal locations include; London, Manchester, Bristol, Newcastle and Cambridge. We offer a hybrid working approach to home/office working.

About you

You will have a good level of technical knowledge and understanding of environmental impact assessment best practice and the ways in which this applies to the UK Planning system. You will have proven experience of all stages of the EIA process and post-submission/determination.

Within this role, you will:

  • Support and co-ordinate Environmental Impact Assessments and associated processes for a range of developments including large Development Consent Order (DCO) and Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA) projects;

  • Produce documents, letters and reports for all stages of the EIA process (including Scoping and Preliminary Environmental Information), and other related assessment work, from inception through to completion;

  • Be involved in the EIA process from inception to completion, including preparing the ES introductory and concluding chapters and Non-Technical Summary;

  • Attend client visits, project meetings and EIA team meetings;
