As an Engineering Project Specialist/ Water Resources EIT you will work with close guidance and supervision on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a senior engineer/designer. You will participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineering principles to select the best plan involving the collaboration with multiple stakeholders and expertise within the company. You will assist in verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices.
Your Key Responsibilities
Review LOMR MT-2 Applications on behalf of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
Check MT-2 applications for completeness
Complete technical and administrative reviews of hydrologic and hydraulic models
Prepare review comments and communication documents
Meet schedule requirements
Attend project meetings
Under the direction of a Senior Engineer; perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, watershed evaluations, water quality monitoring, storm water management and ecosystem restoration design and associated design reports.
Develop construction plans, specifications and estimate of probable costs
Occasional local travel
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) models, including HEC-RAS
Experience with FEMA Letter of Map Revisions (LOMRs)
Experience related to storm water management, Low Impact Development (LID) or ecosystem restoration design and watershed assessments
Proficient with ArcGIS
Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Excellent organizational and communication Skills
Familiarity with hydrology and hydraulic processes
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering or a related degree
E.I.T. (Engineer-In-Training) certification or capability to obtain E.I.T.
Minimum of 0-2 years of experience.
Masters of Science (M.S.) degree in Civil, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering or a related degree
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
