Stantec’s Texas Landscape Architecture team is seeking a senior level landscape architect to join our design team and lead our Houston LA studio. In collaboration with our LA leadership team, the successful candidate will lead our Houston studio in a design and technical capacity as well as in the day-to-day management of projects from the proposal stage, into design, and through the construction administration phase. The successful candidate will work with other diverse professionals such as planners, engineers, and architects in the design of projects in the public and private sectors.
Your Key Responsibilities
In collaboration with LA leadership team, lead day to day operations of our Houston, Texas studio
Management of diverse projects
Lead teams in conceptual design, design development and preparation of contract documents, presentation packages, and specifications
Lead or assist in coordination of consulting disciplines
Lead and participate in project meetings
Prepare and develop contract drawings and presentation packages
Lead and participate in construction administration and observation (i.e. shop drawing review, tracking submittals, and field visits)
Manage quality on projects through our Quality Assurance process
Participate in on-going skill development activities
Build new and foster existing relationships with clients
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Technical expert in all relevant areas of design and various design methods
Possesses excellent time management skills and has a thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting, and efficient use of time and resources
Effective communicator and able to lead teams
Thorough understanding of codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions
Proficient in relevant drafting/design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Landscape Architecture or related field from an accredited school
Licensed by state in Landscape Architecture or equivalent Licensure
10 - 15 years’ experience
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
