Your Opportunity
The primary focus of this role is related to pursuing, winning, and managing large scale airport development procurements. The procurements are a combination of Programs, Construction Management and Design opportunities. Together with other Senior Leaders, both internal and external to Texas, you will take part in the planning and positioning, to secure aviation related contracts and to grow the aviation program. Beyond project specific opportunities, there will be ongoing strategic business planning and positioning for future work and team building for all the Texas major Airports and Transit/Transportation agencies.
Your Key Responsibilities
Manage landside and airside contracts with a variety of airport clients acting in a PM or Principal capacity focused on successful project delivery
Develop the overall aviation infrastructure strategy focused on market expansion and growth.
Support the hiring of key resources and staff within the aviation group
Collaborate with Regional Business Leaders in the delivering of financial and project metrics
Attend Board meetings at various General Aviation airports, provides guidance to the airport boards, and works with Business Center Practice Leader to perform project development/communication with those Boards
Market, in coordination with the Regional Business Leader and Business Center Practice Leaders, various commercial service and general aviation airports
Assist project teams as a technical specialist or advisor
Interact with clients, customers, regulatory and funding agencies, contractors, and others
Prepare and present public reports to a variety of audiences
Lead and/or support the preparation of proposals
Actively participate in the marketing process by delivering quality work, providing excellent client service and assisting with project pursuits and marketing efforts
Represent the organization at professional organizations, digital communication and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of aviation projects
Contribute to the vision, growth and advancement to Stantec’s Airport Sector
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Knowledge of FAA and state airport capital funding processes
Demonstrated ability to identify and win new and expanded consulting services opportunities. After winning new work, a proven ability to plan, design, and deliver aviation/transportation projects
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a team of specialized employees and contractors in a coordinated and integrated manner
Have established network in the local marketplace
Experience managing projects and/or programs from $50M-100M
Experience working in a consulting engineering environment, Project/Program Management environment, or Construction Contracting environment
Experience is required in the management of project and/or program budget and cost control functions including budgeting, change management, cost estimating, forecasting
Ability to present technical information to executive level staff
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management or relevant field
Licensed professional architect, engineer and/or project management professional
20 years of experience in design consulting and/or project management
Strong technical skills, proficiency with project scheduling and management software, comprehensive knowledge of FAA and Aviation Regulator Standards/Requirements, and a proven track record for leadership, mentorship, and project success are all essential
