Your Opportunity

Our practice is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience engineering and designing HVAC systems for a wide range of building types including, educational, commercial, governmental, and industrial facilities. We are looking for someone with strong technical and engineering design skills, to lead mechanical designs on projects of all sizes, as well as work as a team member on larger multidiscipline projects. Must have strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills and be a strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment to be successful in this role.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Complete building mechanical system designs including calculations, equipment selection and sizing, control strategies, ductwork, and piping system design, etc.

• Development of construction bid documents including drawings and technical specifications.

• Participation in the construction administration process including resolving coordination issues that occur during construction, perform site visits, review shop drawings, and develop final punch lists.

• Coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines.

• Perform field investigations of existing conditions of facilities.

• Provide direction to junior members of the project team.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Required Computer Skills: Revit, HVAC load calculation software (Trane Trace, IES), Microsoft Office Suite.

• REVIT experience is a must.

• Working knowledge of building and energy codes.

• Candidate must have experience maintaining a project budget, scheduling a project, and meeting project goals.

• Position requires local travel, occasional domestic travel, and visits to client/construction sites.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering or mechanical engineering is required.

Minimum of 7 years of commercial HVAC systems design experience is required.

PE preferred.

Sustainability experience preferred.

Plumbing design experience and fire protection design experience preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers. Some travel may be required to meet with clients or reviewing agencies. May occasionally visit construction sites and/or be exposed to outside elements and inclement weather conditions.
