2023 is a year of growth within Stantec. We have a growing workload which features a variety of exciting and diverse significant projects ranging from $5M to $100M capital value. As a result of this we need you on board to help our team to deliver on these commitments.

This year is your opportunity as a Geometric or Senior Geometric Design Engineer to fully utilise your exceptional design skills. You’ll be working as part of a high performing team, providing technical input and designs for a wide range of large and complex New Zealand projects. Senior designers would also be expected to contribute to the growth of high-end design, planning & consulting capability in the geometric design space by leveraging your existing networks.

We will also consider those with a higher level of experience for a Principal Geometric Design Engineer role.

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Undertake the role of designer, applying technical expertise in road and infrastructure design.

  • Undertake a range of road and infrastructure design responsibilities to produce designs in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Provide technical direction to others in road design best practise and design software use.

  • Provide advice, solutions and project outcomes that create value for clients and provide Stantec with a differentiator in the market.

  • Develop strong working relationships with clients by delivering valuable business solutions and understanding the client’s business.

  • Collaborate closely with project teams, managers, leaders and members of the organisation to achieve a coordinated approach to delivering projects.

  • Network and build relationships with key counterparts in the Stantec business globally.

  • Mentoring and development of junior team members

Qualifications

About you | E pā ana ki a koe

To be successful in these roles, we are looking for individuals in a range between 5 and 15 years’ geometric design experience in transport infrastructure projects including roads/highways, earthworks, bridging and water, and working with multi-disciplinary teams. Ideally you will have one or more of the following design skills - 12D or OpenRoads software, plus AutoCAD.
