Stantec's Puerto Rico office has an opportunity for a highly motivated Civil/Electrical Engineering Intern. This is a paid internship position.

Your Key Responsibilities

Candidate will assist engineering and administrative staff with such tasks as:

  • Applying formulas to routine calculations

  • Preparing spreadsheets and graphs for engineers

  • Assisting with site inspections and observations

  • Performing AutoCAD work, and researching materials and manufacturer equipment

Will also assist with report preparation and routine office tasks such as photocopying and collating drawing. May possibly include some fieldwork assisting with data gathering for various projects.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Desired software applications include AutoCAD and ArcView/GIS.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Must have good organizational skills, be reliable, detail orientated and capable of taking initiative.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.

Education and Experience

  • Must be a college student candidate for Civil and/or Electrical Engineering degree.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Minimum GPA 3.0. This GPA must be maintained throughout the internship.

  • Experience working with public agencies and/or municipal government a plus.

  • Previous internship or co-op experience in similar type work a plus.

  • Professional society participation a plus

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
