We are looking for a Hydrogeologist to join our team in one of the Atlantic Canada offices (St. John's, NL, Dartmouth, NS, Fredericton, NB, Saint John, NB, Moncton, NB, Charlottetown, PEI).
The Hydrogeologist would be involved in a variety of projects related to hydrogeologic assessment, groundwater supply development and groundwater protection and management.
Your Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate and conduct investigation programs including drilling, test pitting and installation of monitoring wells
Map and interpret surface geology features
Design and implement groundwater sampling programs
Hydrogeologic assessment for municipal and industrial infrastructure projects
Hydrogeologic investigations for assessment for environmental impact assessments
Aquifer testing (slug tests and pump tests)
Manage project tasks and budgets
Supervise the work of Technologists and Junior Engineers
Business development to expand groundwater and environmental consulting practice

Familiarity with local practice and markets is considered an asset.
Strong abilities with software and computer modeling
Strong technical writing and communication skills;
Experience in hydrogeologic analysis and interpretation;
Experience in evaluation of soil and groundwater chemistry (organic and inorganic);
Working knowledge of evaluating groundwater data with respect to environmental regulations
Demonstrated ability to use numerical groundwater flow and solute transport models and associated hydrogeology/geology software tools (e.g., MODFLOW/MT3D, FEFLOW, HydroGeoSphere, Groundwater Vistas, PEST, AQTESOLV)
Education and Experience
A university degree in geoscience or environmental engineering with a focus on hydrogeology (a master’s degree would be considered an asset);
3-7 years of experience in hydrogeology ;
Eligible for registration with professional association (e.g., APENS, APGNS or APEGNB)
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
