Your Opportunity

Stantec is now accepting resumes for Summer 2024 Landscape Architecture intern within our Community Development Group in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a resume and skill-building experience. This position is perfect for someone with a thirst for exploring design ideas collaboratively on teams, mentoring under award winning landscape architects and its allied professionals -the planners, and architects through all phases of a project lifecycle. You will further enhance your knowledge and get exposure to the practice of Landscape Architecture

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to become involved in public and private projects across a range of scales and uses with a variety of developer, municipal clients. You will build new relationships with some of our landscape architecture staff firm wide. This position offers the opportunity to become involved in unique Landscape Architecture projects across Western Canada and contribute to the larger North American practice. This position is for a minimum of three days a week with potential for additional hours as determined necessary.

Your Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Producing design support graphics using both hand and digital drawing and rendering techniques for concept, preliminary and detail design.

  • Supporting design teams as required with construction administrative and post construction tasks in the office.

  • A desire to develop knowledge in general Landscape Architecture practice and a passion to learn about the industry.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Excellent design, graphic, computer, writing, and technical skills.

  • Self-motivated and passionate about design.

  • Independent problem-solving skills and the confidence to know when to ask for help.

  • Strong time management, critical thinking, and organizational skills.

  • Skills required include strong command of digital drafting software, technical design layout, grading, planting, and detailing of design projects of all sizes.

  • Solid graphic and digital design and documentation skills

Education and Experience

Applicants should be a current student or recent graduate of an accredited institute.
