Stantec, along with joint venture partner Ryan Hanley, are excited to have been appointed to the Irish Water Engineering Design Services Framework. The Joint Venture will support Irish Water’s Business Plan objectives up to 2027, which will see a €3.5bn investment in asset delivery across three primary portfolios: Wastewater Capital, Networks and Water Capital. This exciting portfolio, along with the work done supporting a number of major water frameworks throughout the UK, offers our employees the opportunity to tackle a range of challenging projects.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our team based in Dublin.

Your day to day working life would comprise working from our new City Centre office on the LUAS red line in the heart of Dublin’s shopping and restaurant districts. We are a busy team, so you’ll be engaged on project work from day one and you will be mentored by more senior team members. You will assist in producing drawings and designs from outline to detailed design and you will have the opportunity to use software such as ArcGIS and ACAD, data manipulation, technical report writing, and specialist design tools. You could support the urban drainage modelling team on various DAP (drainage area plans), support the civil team undertake the design of a number of wastewater treatment plants or support the Nature Positive Infrastructure Team explore and incorporate nature-based solutions including integrated constructed wetlands.

About you:

As an individual, you’ll have a keen interest in the water industry as well as:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (NFQ L7 / L8)

• A likeminded engineer interested in sustainable urban drainage and surface water management, pipeline design, wastewater treatment.

• A problem solver and not afraid to challenge conventional thinking

• Eligible to live and work in Ireland at the time you start employment.

Desired but not essential:

• A MSc (NFQ L9) in Civil Engineering or Water Engineering

• Previous experience via a summer placement or internship.

Land Aid

Stantec has partnered with property sector charity LandAid as one of its corporate partners to join its mission to end youth homelessness. In 2019/20, an estimated 120,000 young people asked for help from their local council because they were homeless or at risk of homelessness. It’s a problem that LandAid are here to help tackle.

As the Property Industry Charity, LandAid unite over 200 organisations from across the sector, working together to bring an end to youth homelessness.

As a Charitable Trust, they distribute funding to frontline charities supporting the young and homeless – and primarily fund capital projects, such as renovating homes and building bedspaces. We have seen the incredible impact that can happen when the industry unites and so Stantec are proud to be working alongside LandAid this year.
