Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking qualified candidates for a Civil Engineer for our Salt Lake City, Denver or Phoenix offices. The primary focus of this position is to assist U.S. and International-based natural resources clients (primarily mining) with the design and monitoring of earth structures (i.e. tailings storage facilities, waste rock management facilities, natural slopes, etc.). This position will require:

Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
Working on numerous projects and deliverables simultaneously, the selected candidate will be highly organized and efficient.
This position interacts throughout the organization internally and externally with clients and members of business and professional organizations. Travel will be required periodically.
Your Key Responsibilities
Following safe work practices and adhering to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner. MSHA and/or OSHA training will be required.
Developing and implementing digital solutions in ArcGIS, Carlson and/or Civil3D software.
Preparing technical memoranda and detailed reports pertaining to geotechnical field investigations, instrumentation monitoring, and design studies.
Assist with developing, overseeing, and interpreting field investigations; primarily focused on mining projects.
Assisting with preparing proposals and preparing and giving presentations.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Exceptional technical writing and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, technical leadership abilities, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and make decisions in the office and in the field at remote sites.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience using ArcGIS, Carlson or Civil3D software.
Working knowledge in civil/geotechnical construction oversight of major earthworks or water control structures is an asset.
Must be a team player and able to work with a variety of personalities.
Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within frequently changing priorities.
Must be willing and able to take initiative when needed.
Ability to perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Valid driver’s license is required.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering.
0-4 years of experience working on civil and/or geotechnical engineering projects, focusing on detailed design, site investigation, and technical communication. Preference given to mine waste/tailings management related experience.

Hiring Salary Range: $68,800 - $82,500 — Colorado locations only. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
