Are you ready to move up in your career? Stantec is looking for a Marketing Team Lead for Buildings (Architecture, Interior Design and Buildings Engineering) in the North Central Region. Guiding our team, you will work with marketing and business leadership to deliver annual integrated marketing and business development plans to achieve Stantec’s goals for revenue growth, profitability, and market leadership in our target markets. Working alongside your team and our practitioners, you will work to establish Stantec’s desired market position within our target market sectors - Education, Workplace, Hospitality, Government, Healthcare, Retail, and Multi-family Residential - develop strong, lasting relationships with key internal clients; help to identify market opportunities; and support winning proposal submissions, presentations, communications and industry awards.

This position requires an inspirational leader to provide mentorship and coaching to the marketing team, expertise in client strategy and business planning, and a keen understanding of how pursuits and promotional activities work together to meet our business objectives.

Your Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Management

  • Provide ongoing leadership, mentorship, and coaching to a team of marketing professionals within the region.

  • Responsible for the guidance, supervision, and performance of direct reports.

  • Responsible for quality control of team member deliverables, including brand compliance.

  • Provide input and/or may be responsible for the hiring, evaluation, and termination of marketing team members.

  • Manage team workload for staff in multiple offices.

  • Actively participate in and lead regular regional team meetings and calls.

Pursuit and Account Management

  • Be actively engaged in the pursuit process, including oversight of team proposal efforts. This will include strategy setting, quality reviews of team member deliverables, and brand compliance reviews. Role will also include pursuit leadership as needed.

  • Support client development, account management, and strategic pursuit efforts

  • Support cross-region and cross-business line collaboration.

Marketing and Positioning Strategy

  • Act as a touchpoint for buildings leadership in their understanding of and adherence to Stantec pursuit protocols and activities.

  • Assist in developing compelling tactics for our promotional activities, such as advertising, photography, media and social media, community engagement, conferences, and other client interface opportunities.

  • Facilitate and drive strategic discussion on relevant components of business plans, coaching our marketing staff in the execution and support of those plans.

  • Advise on local market research and analysis and assessment of opportunities.

  • Develop targeted content marketing in collaboration with public relations team members and practitioners.

  • Work with PR and marketing team members to develop campaigns that feature people / projects / creativity and enhance the Stantec brand.

  • Help to maintain and update regional buildings content on Stantec.com and internal information management systems, including people and project profiles.

  • Act as ambassador on social media sites – LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram etc. Work with PR and leadership team to encourage thought leaders and employees to participate in social media promotion.

Your Capabilities & Credentials

  • Proven experience developing responses to detailed requests for proposals/qualifications (RFP/Qs), as well as client-facing presentations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly articulate issues and frame solutions in a compelling manner.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with web-based tools, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, social media platforms, and cloud-based interfaces.

  • Strong presentation skills in small and large group environments.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior management, supervisors, peers, and clients.

  • Ability to successfully balance conflicting priorities and thrive in a deadline-driven environment.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 8 – 10 years of relevant experience.

  • Post-secondary degree in English, journalism, marketing, communications, public relations, relevant design field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in the Architecture/Engineering/Consulting industry is strongly preferred.

  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
