Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a talented Survey CAD Technician to join our team. This role can sit in either our Winston Salem, or Charlotte, North Carolina office. A hybrid work model or flexible hours may be available if needed.

Your Key Responsibilities

As an integral member of the Community Development team, the CAD Technician will produce survey plats/maps and other documents to fulfill clients’ goals. The ideal candidate will have full working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3d with some combination of knowledge and experience with MicroStation, Open Roads and/or Inroads.

Relevant technical elements for this position include, but are not limited to, mapping for topographic, boundary, subdivision, roadway design projects and construction layout. Candidate should have a strong knowledge of survey field practices.

  • Should be efficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D. efficiency with MicroStation a plus.

  • Ability to process field data, perform traverse adjustments and process linework (field to finish).

  • Ability to upload and download field data from data collector, as necessary.

  • Work as a team player under the supervision of the project PM and Survey Manager.

  • Be able to work in the field on occasion when needed. Approximately 20% of the time.

  • Adhere to Company safety polices along with use of supplied personal protective equipment, (PPE) when in the field.

  • Complete internal and external training as required.

  • Good communication and organizational skills.

  • Provide exceptional customer service.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D with skills.

  • Experience with Trimble Access & TBC a plus.

  • Relevant software programs may also include MicroStation, Inroads. Experience with NCDOT is desirable but not required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong work ethic and team player attitude.

  • Good organization skills.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of Survey related CAD experience.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; will require some field work.
